WE'RE THERE FOR THEM AS THEY ARE FOR US
Working with rescue pets takes a lot of patience and dedication. Many times we take in unwanted and stray pets who have... issues. There are cracks in their foundation - caused from neglect, abuse, living on the streets. And I'm reminded of something in the Japanese culture called Kintsugi, also known as 'golden joinery' that involves mending fractured ceramic with lacquer infused with gold dust. Rather than concealing the flaws of the object, kintsugi cherishes these imperfections and perceives them as an indispensable part of it's unique story.
That's our mission: to fill in their cracks and make them the most adoptable pet possible (along with spaying/neutering/microchipping). And in the process, they fill the cracks in our human souls too. Animals have a way of coming to us in God's perfect timing, don't they?
