Worse before it gets better

Anyone who's gone through a massive renovation project knows that it always gets worse before she gets better.

Whelp... that's where I'm at.

Everything is a crumbly mess right now. I add at least 10 things to my to-do list everyday. I'm looking at loans, commercial insurance, and a new roof. It may be a point where an amateur would want to throw in the towel.

But I have a very very strong vision and that's exactly what keeps me going.

When I'm on my 147th trip out the roll off with awkward, heavy pieces of demo trash to the roll off.

I dream of welcoming my clients into my new lobby.

I dream of putting out fresh flowers every week just because they are lovely.

I dream of the delicious light streaming in my windows.

I dream of what I'm going to cook for my first meal for my loves in my new kitchen.

Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

It's going to be so gosh darn beautiful.

There's totally a reason big box stores exist. When you're need of something basic and not special. Building supplies and fixtures that are convenient and on display, ready to put in your cart.

Some stuff I'm cool with coming from Home Depot.

But for the special places that matter (the lobby - sparing no expense), my bathroom (totally doing heated floors and a jaw-dropping wall mural), and doors. Ahhh... my DOORS! Vintage doors are so hard to find but lucky for me I found the honey hole in Lincoln (Conner's Architectural Antiques)

It's been an extremely fun season for me working on my own design project.

And a huge shoutout to Facebook Marketplace, Goodwill, and Ryan for letting me borrow his truck all the time.
