WHAT WE'RE DOING, EXACTLY
Get ready for a chill evening with friends, wine, snacks, and needles. (and don't worry if you don't know how to sew! Trust me ---- if I can do it, you can too)
For beginners OR experienced sewers. All adults are welcome!
Basically, we'll be placing the printed image of your choice (which I'll request a digital photo and print for you ahead of time onto special transfer paper).
At the workshop, we'll iron your photo onto fabric, which we will then place in an embroidery hoop.
Embellish your photo with colored thread to create a one-of-a-kind art piece to display.
Simple and cute. Frame your work in the end OR just leave it in your hoop!
how to choose a photo
I feel like this project is most conducive to a black and white image! I'm happy to convert your image for you if that's the look you'd like. (*just need permission to do so from your photographer if it's a pro photo). Choose a photo that is meaningful to you and that has a clean background so your embellishments stand out.
Ideas for embellishments:
- highlight the features of a garment (like the floral print skirt in the photo below)
- wording - a quote or phrase
- a design or border
